How Our Diploma & Pathway Works

At Stemlab School, our diploma program is designed in accordance with internationally recognized educational practices and reflects the expectations of U.S.-style college preparatory schools. The structure of our diploma and academic pathways supports student achievement, transparency of assessment, and continuous improvement — key principles of school accreditation and quality assurance.

The Stemlab School Diploma

Students who complete the full academic program at Stemlab School (Grades 1–12) are awarded a Stemlab School High School Diploma. The diploma certifies that the student has:

  • Completed a coherent, sequential secondary education program;
  • Met defined academic and graduation requirements;
  • Demonstrated achievement of learning outcomes aligned with the school's curriculum;
  • Participated in a standards-based assessment system.

The diploma reflects the completion of an internal school program and is supported by official academic documentation.

Curriculum Structure & Academic Credits

The curriculum at Stemlab School is organized to ensure scope, sequence, and progression across grade levels. In secondary grades, students earn academic credits for successfully completed courses. Credits are awarded based on:

  • Completion of approved coursework;
  • Ongoing formative assessment;
  • Interim and final summative assessments;
  • Demonstrated mastery of course learning objectives.

Required areas of study include:

Mathematics
Science
Social Studies
English Language and Literature
Foreign Languages
Technology and STEM-related courses
Physical Education and Wellbeing

This credit-based structure is comparable to models used in U.S. and international schools.

Individual Academic Pathways

Stemlab School supports individualized academic pathways that allow students to progress according to their abilities, interests, and post-secondary goals. Academic pathways are guided and monitored by the school and may include:

  • A STEM-focused academic emphasis;
  • A university-preparatory academic track;
  • A bilingual-to-English immersion pathway;
  • Elective and enrichment courses.

Pathway decisions are informed by academic performance data, student goals, and regular academic review.

Preparation for Post-Secondary Education

In the upper grades, the academic program emphasizes readiness for post-secondary education by developing:

  • Critical and analytical thinking;
  • Academic writing and research skills;
  • Independent learning habits;
  • Digital and information literacy

Students may participate in structured preparation activities aligned with international university expectations, including standardized test preparation and academic project work.

Assessment, Transcripts & Academic Records

Student progress is documented through a standards-based assessment system, including:

  • Letter grades and narrative feedback;
  • GPA calculation;
  • Course credits and completion records.

Graduates receive:

  • An official school transcript;
  • A record of completed courses and credits;
  • Supporting documentation as required.

All academic records are maintained in accordance with school policies and data protection standards.

Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance

The diploma program and academic pathways are reviewed regularly as part of the school's continuous improvement process. Curriculum, assessment practices, and graduation requirements are evaluated to ensure:

  • Alignment with the school's mission and learning outcomes;
  • Consistency and transparency;
  • Responsiveness to student needs and educational best practices.
